What do we mean when we say CFEC is an Educational Co-op?

CFEC is a group focused on education within a Christian atmosphere and each participating family can have an active role in deciding the direction of the group. Consequently we don't have an organizational structure where only a few control the group and carry the burden of the work. As a co-operative organization, all families work together for success of the group and to the benefit of our children.

The primary focus of our co-op is on academic enrichment among Christian homeschoolers.  Consequently we do not promote the doctrines of any one denomination. However we do expect acceptable conduct for Christian families, as stated in our "Code of Conduct".

Homeschoolers are independent thinkers capable of making the appropriate decisions for their own families. In fact, it is God who gives parents the responsibility and authority for the education of their children. Homeschoolers seriously take this instruction to heart and CFEC,  by its very design, strives to uphold these intructions.

We believe members should have ample opportunity to contribute their opinions, thoughts, or ideas and that adequate discussion, when necessary, should be a guiding principle of the group. We at CFEC choose to remain a group committed to working together to make our co-op an educational group that is beneficial and enjoyable for all its members.

That, in summary, is what we mean when we call ourselves an Educational Co-op.
